Member of the State Parliament Stefan Meyer visits Lm-therm in Aldersbach

Lm-therm recently welcomed a special visitor: together with Aldersbach’s mayor Harald Mayrhofer, Member of the State Parliament Stefan Meyer took a tour of the company to learn about its operations and work. After the visit, Stefan Meyer said he was impressed by the company’s field of activity and the innovative strength of regional businesses. He said it was always exciting to see the high-performing and important companies based in the district.

Four strong business areas

During the tour of the company, Manuel Waldbauer, deputy operations manager, explained Lm-therm’s concept, which is based on four core areas: switch cabinet air conditioning, cable technology, component assembly, and special construction. The special construction division in particular plays an

important role and accounts for over 70 percent of sales. The control cabinet often forms the basis for many customer-specific solutions.
“We are a one-stop shop. We draw on 60 years of experience in the field of industrial air conditioning,” explained CEO Franz Achter during the visit. “Moisture and frost are the greatest dangers when it comes to electronics. Control systems must not be too cold or too warm – this is exactly where our heating and cooling systems come into play.”

Investments in modern working conditions and a new business area

Lm-therm is currently in the final phase of extensive renovation work. Storage and production areas have been significantly expanded and workplaces modernized—with improved lighting and optimized working conditions for employees.

In addition, the company is entering a new business area: the sale of industrial keyboards and monitors. These are specially designed for industries with high requirements, such as the food industry or the medical sector. Here, too, Lm-therm focuses on tailor-made solutions for individual customer requirements.

Thermal management for sensitive electronics

The company has been involved in industrial air conditioning for around 60 years. The aim is to reliably protect sensitive electronics from external influences. Moisture, frost, or excessive temperatures can damage electronic controls. This is exactly where Lm-therm’s products come into play – including compressor cooling units, filter fans, thermostats, and control cabinet heaters. These ensure that the temperature in control cabinets and control systems remains constant within the optimum range.

With increasing digitalization, the topic of heat management is becoming increasingly important. The aim is to increase operational reliability, prevent failures, and extend the service life of the components used.

Now in its second generation, Lm-therm employs around 50 people. Many steps are still carried out by hand—an aspect that particularly struck guests during the tour.
