Girls’ Day: a visit to Lm-therm
The curiosity and excitement were clearly noticeable in the two pupils from the Columbia Neef girls’ secondary school in Neustift. The two 8th grade students took advantage of the annual Girls’ Day to gain an insight into the technical professions at Lm-therm and thus get a first impression of their opportunities in professions with a female share of less than 40 %.
Our Chairman of the Board Franz Achter did not miss the opportunity to personally welcome the two young women and guide them into the exciting day. “It is important to us to support women in taking the step into a technical profession. Therefore, it was a matter of course for us to introduce the company to the two young women and give them a glimpse into our technical professions,” says Franz Achter.
The day was certainly exciting. After the safety briefing, Magdalena, 13, from Windorf and Anna-Maria, 13, from Vilshofen were given the opportunity to take a look at all the departments and ask questions about the respective tasks. They learned how production orders are created, how switch cabinet heaters and assembled cables are manufactured and how the finished devices are tested. The tour ended in the dispatch department, where Magdalena and Anna-Maria learned about the processes involved in creating shipping documents and shipping the products. After the tour, the two young women had the opportunity to ask our Chairman of the board Franz Achter questions and talk about their impressions. Lm-therm trains in the professions of electronics technician for devices and systems (m/f/d), industrial clerk (m/f/d) and foreign language industrial clerk (m/f/d) and welcomes applications from all genders.
