Excessive temperatures lead to performance losses and malfunctions, and can drastically shorten the service life of controllers, power electronics, and other components.

Control cabinet climate control encompasses all measures for heating, cooling, and dehumidifying the control cabinet to keep temperature and humidity within the permissible range.

Peltier cooling units are ideal for small to medium-sized control cabinets with moderate power dissipation, as well as for applications involving dust, humidity, vibrations, or high protection ratings.

The selection depends on power dissipation, control cabinet size, ambient temperature, installation location (indoor/outdoor), protection rating, and air quality; if needed, Lm-therm can assist you with calculation tools and technical advice.

Peltier cooling units from Lm-therm typically cover cooling capacities ranging from approximately 30 to 800 W; compressor cooling units are available in several power ratings up to the kW range.

Peltier units operate on a thermoelectric principle without refrigerant; they are low-maintenance and robust, whereas compressor coolers operate on the refrigeration cycle principle, offering higher cooling capacities and better COP values, but also require refrigerant.

Depending on the unit and application, high protection ratings are possible, such as IP66 for select Peltier or outdoor cooling units to protect against dust and water.

Peltier cooling units are very low-maintenance and usually only require occasional cleaning of the heat exchangers.
